Parents Mental Health Support

Supporting Parents’ Mental Health at Abbey Primary School

At Abbey Primary School, we understand that a child’s wellbeing is closely linked to the mental health of their parents and carers. That’s why we place great value on supporting the emotional wellbeing of our families, not just our pupils. We are proud to offer a monthly parent wellbeing group, led by our Senior Mental Health Lead, Mrs Baker, in partnership withReflexions, an NHS mental health service, and Mossley Community Connexions.

These sessions offer a safe, welcoming space to share experiences, access professional advice, and connect with others. From creative wellbeing activities like bag decorating and decoupage to community-spirited projects such as hiding bookmarks with uplifting messages around the estate, our group celebrates togetherness and self-care.

This initiative reflects the strong bond between Abbey Primary, local agencies, and our wider community—working hand in hand to support and uplift one another. If you would like any more information about our group, please contact Mrs Baker via the school office or on Class Dojo.

Remember, you’re not alone, and we’re here to help you thrive. Please see the below testimonials from some parents who attend the group:
