Intent:

Children to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to manage their lives, now and in the future.

To teach pupils how to stay healthy and safe

To prepare pupils to make the most of life and equip them to achieve their full potential

To cover all non-statutory PSHE guidance

To cover all statutory SRE guidance

Implementation:

A broad curriculum will be taught through weekly lessons.

The curriculum will be taught through three core themes:
Health and Wellbeing
Relationships
Living in the wider world

The school’s mental health programme (My Happy Mind) will feed into topics covered in the curriculum and support children in what they are learning.

Cross curricular links will be used where possible especially Computing, PE and Science.

Impact:

Children will have the knowledge, skills and attributes needed to thrive as individuals, family members and members of society.

Pupils will be able to:

make responsible decisions

have the skills to help them manage challenges and responsibilities they will face growing up

recognise and manage feelings

recognise changes and deal with them as they arise
